O'Neills.com Leinster GAA Coaching Conference 2012

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Martin Fogarty, presenter at the Leinster Coaching Conference

The O'Neills.com Leinster GAA Coaching Conference 2012 has been launched by Dave Kavanagh (Games Development Chairman Leinster GAA) and Cormac Farrell (O'Neills).

This year’s conference is entitled “Practical Game Solutions to Real Match Issues”. The conference is targeted at coaches working with youth and adult teams. The key message from the conference will be the importance of purposeful games based training programmes, incorporating the elements of the OTú Coaching Model, to suit your players and teams needs.

The conference coincides with the launch of the New Look Leinster GAA Website and as such both have teamed up to add an extra dimension to the conference. Brian Cuthbert & Eamonn Ryan (Football) and Martin Fogarty & Brían Ryan (Hurling) will be tailoring their practical sessions based on the needs of the "Game". We have selected two post primary All-Ireland Finals and have asked our presenters to pretend they were the coaches of the teams and illustrate what areas they would work on over the next few training sessions.

We challenge all those who plan on attending the conference to watch either the Hurling or the Football Game and submit the areas that they would work on if they were the coach.

Presenters on the day include:

  • Football - Eamonn Ryan, Brian Cuthbert & Tadhg Fennin
  • Hurling - Martin Fogarty & Brían Ryan & Pat Critchley
  • Resistance Training – Dr. Cian O’Neill, Andrew Murphy & Michael Dempsey
