The GAA is delighted to partner with the Global Brain Health Institute in the coordination of an educational webinar - 'Brain Health and Sport – Reducing Risk and Maximising Benefit'.
The event is open to all members of the Gaelic Games family and will centre around the concept of brain health – protecting our brains throughout the life course through minimising exposure to risk factors and building cognitive reserve and resilience.
The longer-term risks associated with concussion and head injuries will be discussed, as will the clear brain health benefits that participation in sport provides in terms of both physical activity and social connection.
This webinar, developed by the Global Brain Health Institute at Trinity College Dublin in conjunction with the GAA’s Medical, Scientific, and Welfare Committee, features a panel of Irish and international experts. It will introduce the broad concept of life course brain health and explore the role that engagement with sport across all ages can play in keeping our brains healthy.
