Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup Quarter-Finals

Wednesday February 5

DCU Dóchas Eireann v Mary I, DCU Sportsgrounds, 8pm

Thursday February 6

TUS Midwest v MTU Cork, TUS Midwest, 6.30pm

It is knockout hurling now in the Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup.

Holders Mary I face an awkward assignment in the capital against DCU Dóchas Eireann.

Last week UL overcame an understrength Mary I to secure a place in the last four so Jamie Wall's charges will want to respond.

Declan McLoughlin and Conor Hennessy have impressed for Mary I, who also feature Adam Hogan and Shane O'Brien.

DCU Dóchas Eireann drew with TUS Midwest before defeating Maynooth University with Sam Bourke and Cian Boran netting crucial goals in that success.

Cathal Beirne and Cillian Dunne also made valuable scoring contributions in that win.

On Thursday, it should be a lively encounter too between TUS Midwest and MTU Cork.

Kyle Shelly's sharp free taking has been a real feature in TUS Midwest's two games so far in the competition.

Robert Doyle and Paddy McCormack have also impressed for TUS Midwest.

UCC shaded a tight battle against MTU Cork, who were without Ciaran Joyce and Alan Connolly, to book a semi-final spot.

MTU Cork, though, have delivered some excellent displays with Jack Cahalane and Seán Walsh prominent.
