Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup Round Three

University of Galway 0-11 St Mary's 1-7

Maynooth University 2-14 UCC 1-12

Two late Cian Monaghan points earned University of Galway victory against a spirited St Mary's outfit.

Trailing by four in the closing stages, The Ranch summoned a determined revival scoring 1-2 without reply to hit the front.

A Seán O'Donnell point was followed by a Shea Daly goal in the 56th minute to level, 1-6 to 0-9.

Then Sean Rock edged Mary's into the lead, but University of Galway remained cool under pressure.

Monaghan restored parity in additional time before subsequently landing the winner, following a sharp Tommy Conroy pass, for Maurice Sheridan's charges.

Darragh Kirwan was a key performer as Maynooth University defeated UCC.

Two first half goals from Kildare star Kirwan ensured a determined Maynooth led 2-9 to 1-4 at the interval.

Kirwan pounced to net twice in the opening quarter, and UCC were unable to recover.

University of Galway and Maynooth University both advance to the quarter-finals of the Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup.
