TUS Midlands 2-18 Maynooth University 0-21 AET
TUS Midlands produced an excellent display to defeat Maynooth University in the Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup on Saturday evening.
Early goals from Oisín Flynn and Brian Cooney helped TUS Midlands into a 2-3 to 0-2 advantage in Athlone.
Maynooth, though, responded impressively with Eoghan Frayne in brilliant scoring form for the away outfit.
Extra-time was eventually required with Matthew Whittaker and Cillian Hunt contributing important points for TUS Midlands, who prevailed.
TUS Midlands will now face MTU Cork in Round 2A, while in Round 2B Maynooth University face ATU Donegal.
