Ulster Minor Football Championship
Derry 1-15 Tyrone 0-10
The Derry minor footballers scored a very impressive eight point victory over Tyrone in the Ulster MFC quarter-final at Celtic Park on Sunday.
They took the game to their opponents from the very start, and had opened a 0-3 to 0-1 lead by the 10th minute.
Tyrone grew with the game and there was just a point in it at half time, Derry leading by 0-8 to 0-7.
Tyrone drew level early in the second-half, but once the excellent Larry Kielt put Derry ahead again they never looked back.
Points from Seamus Higgins and Paddy Quigley put them five points up as the game went into injury-time, and they finished the game on an exclamation mark with a goal from corner-back Conor McCloskey.
