Connacht Senior Football Championship Quarter-Final

London v Sligo, McGovern Park, Ruislip, 3.30pm

A Connacht Championship opener with plenty of sub plots. Sligo lost on their last visit to Ruislip, Carrabine brothers in opposite camps, Cathal Corey’s first match in charge, and London’s increasing number of homegrown players all contribute to make this an interesting encounter.

Under Ciaran Deely’s clever management London extracted six fairly encouraging Allianz Football League Division Four displays.

Sligo took heart and confidence from a stirring finish against Derry which preserved Division Three status.

For a team with a nice mix of experienced and emerging players Sligo will hope to make a statement against the Exiles.

It is a demanding assignment, though, for the visitors who are completely aware of how tricky a Championship occasion this trip can be.

LONDON: Gavin McEvoy; Philip Butler, Ciaran Dunne, Conor O'Neill; Michael Walsh, Marcus Mangan, Patrick Begley; Anthony McDermott, Mark Gottsche; Eoin Murray, Liam Gavaghan, Thomas Waters; Ryan Elliott, Adrian Moyles, Killian Butler.

SLIGO: Aidan Devaney; Ross Donavan, Luke Nicholson, Charlie Harrison; Gerard O'Kelly Lynch, Adrian McIntyre, Neil Ewing; Niall Murphy, Kevin McDonnell; Cathal Henry, Cian Breheny, Pat Hughes; Liam Gaughan, Adrian Marren, Kyle Cawley.
