Roscommon forward Senan Kilbride has annouced his retirment from inter-county football.
The 31-year-old St. Brigid's clubman made his inter-county debut for Roscommon in the Allianz League in 2005 but his championship bow against Galway didn't come for another three years due to a combination of injury and illness.
Injury was something of a theme throughout his career, and in 2010 he missed out on Roscommon's Connacht title win because he was sidelined by a bout of osteitis pubis.
When he was fit, there were few more effective inside-forwards in the country.
His size and strength made him a very effective ball-winner, but he also had great skill and finishing ability.
An All-Ireland winner with St. Brigid's in 2013, he'll continue to play for his club.
Roscommon GAA Co Board Chairman Seamus Sweeney said today: “On behalf of Roscommon GAA people everywhere I would like to thank Senan for his tremendous service to Roscommon GAA and I know he’ll continue the great work in St Brigid’s and through his work as a primary school teacher.
"Well done Senan and thanks for the memories.”
