Galway’s Conor Whelan has been voted GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The flying corner-forward was Man of the Match for the Tribesmen in their Leinster SHC Quarter-Final win over Dublin last Sunday.

The display earned him 38 per cent of the public vote on the GAA’s Official Twitter (@officialgaa), Facebook, and Instagram pages ahead of Wexford’s Conor McDonald and Offaly’s Shane Dooley.

GAA.ie Hurler of the Week

1: Conor Whelan (Galway) – 2441 votes (38 per cent)

**2: **Conor McDonald (Wexford) – 2175 (34 per cent)

3: Shane Dooley (Offaly) – 1756 (28 per cent)

Conor Whelan continues to develop impressively. The Kinvara youngster struck five points from play for Galway against Dublin in Sunday's Leinster SHC Quarter-Final.

Whelan is renowned for his work rate in the forward line as well as his scoring, and he has brought his dynamic League form into the Championship.

Whelan was fearless in the inside forward line causing problems for Dublin, who struggled to deal with a talented Galway attack.

Laois went into the Leinster SHC Quarter-Final against Wexford game with some confidence on the back of three victories in the round-robin, but were well beaten in the end by Davy Fitzgerald's Wexford.

In a 3-25 to 1-17 victory it was star-man Conor McDonald, who top scored with 0-9.

McDonald worked tirelessly during the match registering four points from play for Wexford, who now face Kilkenny on June 10.

In last weekend's other Leinster SHC Quarter-Final, Offaly came with a late surge to defeat Westmeath in a thrilling encounter.

The Faithful County scored four goals, with three of them coming from the classy **Shane Dooley **who finished with a personal tally of 3-8 as Offaly won out by  4-15 to 1-20.
