Borris-Ileigh might have lost Sunday’s AIB All-Ireland Final to Ballyhale Shamrocks, but Jerry Kelly’s performance will live long in the memory.
The all-action attacker plays with a potent combination of power and skill and was his team’s most dangerous player by some distance.
He finished the match with a personal tally of seven points, six from play and one a sublime sideline cut.
When Ballyhale’s need was greatest in Sunday’s AIB All-Ireland Club SHC Final, their talisman TJ Reid really stepped up to the plate.
A late rally from their Tipperary opponents saw them reduce a six-point deficit to just two with two minutes of normal time remaining, but Reid ensured there would be no fairtale comeback.
He scored a fine point from play and then landed another from a free he’d won himself to bring his match-tally to eight and seal the victory for his team.
Shane Walsh was a real Captain Fantastic for Kilkenny club Tullaroan as they defeated Fr. O’Neills of Cork in Saturday’s AIB All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Final.
He finished with a personal tally of 0-10, half of them from play, and put the icing on a very impressive individual performance by scoring the winning point deep into injury-time.
His epic speech after lifting the Cup wasn’t bad either!
