Clare's Tony Kelly is the GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

Tony Kelly is this week’s GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The Clare star received 4,119 votes from the public ahead of Antrim’s James McNaughton (3,878), and Galway’s Brian Concannon (3,129).

Tony Kelly (Clare)

Even by Kelly’s very high standards his performance for Clare in their victory over Dublin was something special. He scored 20 points, six of them from play, and seemed to be involved in almost everything good that Clare did.

James McNaughton (Antrim)

James McNaughton was hugely influential as Antrim claimed a draw with Wexford that ensures they’ll play in Division 1 of the Allianz League next year. He scored seven points, three of them from play, and drove his team forward time and again.

Brian Concannon (Galway)

The Galway corner-forward scored 2-2 for the Tribesmen in their high-scoring victory over Waterford and created many other opportunities for his team-mates with the intelligence of his play. The Killimordaly man is really coming into his prime now as an inter-county hurler.
