Electric Ireland All-Ireland minor football quarter-final

Armagh 1-16 Longford 1-3

Armagh are through to the Electric Ireland All-Ireland minor football semi-final after a hugely impressive victory over Leinster champions Longford.

The Orchard County put their best foot forward from the very start of the match and opened up an early 0-4 to 0-1 lead with Conall Wilson, Diarmuid O’Rourke (0-2), and Ross Marsden landing the scores.

Longford managed to get back on level terms thanks to a goal and point in quick succession by Luke Donnelly, but that’s as good as it would get for the Mildanders.

Armagh took control of the contest to kick 1-4 without reply with the goal coming from Shea Loughran.

That put the Ulster side 1-7 to 1-2 ahead at the break and already looking good for the win.

Further points from O’Rourke, Fionn Toale, and Keelan McEntee stretched their lead early in the second half and it was plain sailing from there with Longford only managing a single point in reply before the final whistle.
