David Fitzgerald voted GAA.ie Hurler of the Week

David Fitzgerald is this week's GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

David Fitzgerald is this week's GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The public has voted Clare’s David Fitzgerald the GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The Clare attacker received 2,633 votes on the GAA's official Instagram page which put him ahead of Cork’s Alan Connolly (2,247), and Wexford’s Shane Reck (2,134)

David Fitzgerald (Clare)

Clare’s Mr. Consistent was hugely influential again in their three-point win over Kilkenny. He scored five points from play and won a huge amount of ball all over the pitch which he always used well.

Alan Connolly (Cork)

Alan Connolly has had a tough two years with injuries and showed he can bring a new dimension to the Cork attack when fit by scoring 3-1 from play in their win over Offaly. A very direct forward, the Offaly defence just couldn’t cope with his pace, power, and accurate finishing.

Shane Reck (Wexford)

Shane Reck was hugely influential for Wexford in their victory over Waterford on Sunday, first at wing-back and then in midfield. He hurled a huge amount of ball, assisted 1-3 from play, and drove Wexford forward time and again.

Players of the Week are decided based on votes cast by followers of the Official GAA Instagram page.
