Bord Gáis Energy, Ireland's leading home energy management and services provider, today proudly announced the continuation of its sponsorship of the 2025 GAA All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, reinforcing a landmark 16-year partnership with the GAA and reaffirming its commitment to hurling communities across the country.
This year, Bord Gáis Energy is welcoming two icons of the game - Wexford's Lee Chin and Clare's Shane O'Donnell - as ambassadors for the 2025 championship season. The announcement also marks the return of #ThatsHurlingEnergy - a campaign that captures the heartbeat of Ireland's fastest field sport, and the electric passion it inspires in fans, players and communities alike.
Meet the Ambassadors: Lee Chin & Shane O'Donnell
Lee Chin, a leader for Wexford hurling and a proud voice for diversity in sport, has been a driving force for his county since debuting over a decade ago. Off the field, his athleticism and advocacy have seen him train with international teams and inspire new generations of fans.
Shane O'Donnell shot to stardom with a hat-trick in the 2013 All-Ireland Final replay, and has become one of Clare's most consistent performers. His story of recovery from serious injury in 2021 and his curiosity about life beyond Earth (yes, he wants to be an astronaut!), make him one of Irish sport's most compelling personalities.
Dave Kirwan, CEO Bord Gáis Energy said: "Our 16-year partnership with the GAA represents more than just sponsorship – it's about celebrating a sport that embodies the same energy, passion and community spirit that drives our business. With Lee and Shane as our ambassadors, we're excited to connect with hurling fans across Ireland and deliver experiences that match the energy and excitement of the game itself. This championship season promises to showcase the very best of hurling, and Bord Gáis Energy is proud to power these moments that bring communities together."
Uachtarán Chumann Luthchleas Gael, Jarlath Burns added: "The continued support of Bord Gáis Energy for the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship represents one of our most enduring and successful partnerships. After 16 years together, their commitment to hurling has helped elevate the game to new heights. We look forward to another thrilling championship season with Bord Gáis Energy by our side, celebrating the skill, tradition and community spirit that makes hurling so special to Irish people."
