Dublin's James McCarthy has retired from inter-county football.
The Ballymun Kickhams clubman was an influential figure for Dublin, winning nine All-Ireland SFC titles, 14 Leinster SFC medals, six Allianz Football Leagues, and five All-Stars during a glittering career.
McCarthy confirmed on Monday morning that he will step away from the Dublin set-up. "This decision hasn't been an easy one to make, but I feel it's the right time.
