Kellogg’s and the GAA have announced the return of Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps for 2024. Beginning in late June and running up to the end of August, this year’s Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps will highlight the importance of diversity and inclusion by offering spaces to children of migrant families across the country.

Working in collaboration with the GAA and the Irish Refugee Council, spaces will be made available at a number of clubs across a wide breadth of the country, for children to experience all things GAA for a day, with the option of staying for the full week of activity, if they wish. To demonstrate its genuine commitment to getting these children involved, Kellogg’s will also support these families by providing transport to and from each Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp.

Kellogg’s, through its social impact strategy ‘Better Days Promise’ believes that there is a seat at the table for everyone and wants to highlight that children, no matter what background or culture they come from, are welcome at Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps. This first year of the programme is a crucial starting point within a long-term vision to ensure that Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps not only supports those in need but also plays a contributary role that leads to a more diverse mix of players within the adult game in this country.

On hand to launch this year’s campaign were Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps ambassadors and sport stars, returning Dublin LGFA star Sinead Goldrick and former Leitrim Hurler Zak Moradi.

Born in a refugee camp in Ramadi, Iraq, Zak settled in Carrick-on-Shannon aged just 11. Unable to speak English, he discovered a talent for hurling which changed his life and Zak credits the GAA with giving him the opportunity to put down roots, forge lifelong friendships and build his own life. Having attended the Cúl Camps as a child and worked as a Cúl Camps coach for 11 years, he is now on board as a campaign ambassador and brings his passion for coaching children and integration to the campaign. Sinead, a former Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps ambassador, has recently returned to Ireland from her stint in Australia and has re-joined the Dublin Ladies panel ahead of the championship season.

The sporting superstars were joined by future stars, Amelia Lilly Kelly, aged 10, Tawsif Ahamd, aged 13, Katie Conroy, aged 8, Makar Sviderski, aged 8, Max Learmouth, aged 8, and Maddie Moir, aged 10, from St Laurence O'Toole’s National School in Dublin 1, who will be taking part in this year’s Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps and listened in as the county players told stories from their time attending the Cúl Camps.

Sarah Ferguson, Kellanova Ireland General Manager said: “Kellogg’s is a proud sponsor of what is now the 13th year of the sponsorship. It is fantastic to see that Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps continues to grow and be such a key part of so many children’s summer break! This year we are embarking on a journey to really make a difference by putting into action our Better Days Promise of encouraging wellbeing and supporting families in our communities.

Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps have long played a vital role in helping young people to explore new interests and stay active as well as creating new and meaningful life-long friendships. With Kellogg's being a staple at the Irish family breakfast table and the GAA being such an integral part of Irish culture, we are delighted to trial this initiative for the first time this year to introduce children from different cultures and backgrounds to the joy Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps can bring.”

GAA Uachtarán CLG Jarlath Burns added: “Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps are one of the highlights of the GAA calendar and we are very grateful to the coaches, co-ordinators, clubs and volunteers that make it happen. This is always a great time of year as the weather is getting better and Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps are on the horizon. We are really looking forward to welcoming thousands of children across the country to their local GAA clubs to experience an action-packed and fun-filled week. I would also like to thank Kellogg’s for their ongoing commitment in a partnership which continues to be an incredible success and I look forward to working to ensure this continues over the coming years.”
