UCD finished with a real flourish to secure a 1-14 to 1-6 Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup Quarter-Final win over University of Galway at Dangan.

Trailing 1-3 to 0-4 at the interval, UCD, prompted by David Garland, responded impressively.

Luke Breathnach netted a crucial goal for John Divilly's charges, who dominated in the third quarter.

Early on University of Galway had enjoyed some productive moments, including a Ryan O'Donoghue goal.

UCD, though, refused to be perturbed, introducing St Brigid's and Roscommon attacker Ben O'Carroll in the second half.

With 10 minutes remaining a Daniel O'Flaherty point brought University of Galway level at 0-9 to 1-6, but UCD impressed late on.

Garland steered UCD ahead before Breathnach scored the decisive goal. A couple of 45s from Killan Roche sealed the deal as UCD advanced to the last four.

Ulster University recorded a fine 0-16 to 1-10 success over TU Dublin in Grangegorman.

A tight opening period unfolded with both teams enjoying encouraging moments as Niall Loughlin and Darragh Canavan inspired Ulster University.

Level on the stroke of half-time, Josh Largo Ellis curled over a sweet point to guide Ulster University 0-6 to 0-5 in front at the turnaround.

With Darragh Canavan instrumental, Ulster University moved 0-11 to 0-5 clear by the 43rd minute.

Seán Hanafin kicked a point for TU Dublin, but Ruairí Canavan replied instantly for Ulster University, who were dictating the agenda.

Ruairí Canavan then added a gorgeous effort from play, extending Ulster University's advantage to 0-13 to 0-6 with 11 minutes left.

Ulster University were six points ahead in additional time when TU Dublin substitute Cian Hanley rifled a goal, but the visitors prevailed.
