The Galway star received 4,016 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Donegal's Daire Ó Baoill (2,355), and Monaghan's Conor McCarthy (1,534).

Shane Walsh was at his brilliant best in Galway's convincing win over Mayo at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park. The gifted Galway forward scored nine points, including four two pointers.
Daire Ó Baoill (Donegal)
Daire Ó Baoill starred for Donegal in Saturday's Allianz Football League win over Dublin at MacCumhaill Park. The Gaoth Dobhair clubman kicked some brilliant first half scores, including two delightful two point efforts.
Conor McCarthy (Monaghan)
Monaghan maintained their impressive Division Two start with a high scoring win over Westmeath at St Tiernach's Park. Conor McCarthy was hugely effective for Monaghan, contributing seven points from play.
