TIPPERARY 2-16 CLARE 0-17
Tipperary were five point victors over Clare in Round 2 Phase 2 of the Dalata Hotel Group Munster U20 Championship this evening.
It was the second time the Premier County have defeated the Banner in this year's competition, and this game was a little bit more comfortable than their previous one point victory in Phase 1.
Daithi Hogan had kicked the winner for Tipp in that game and was very much to the fore for the winners again this evening, scoring 1-3 from play.
Helped by an 11th minute Paddy O'Keeffe goal, Tipperary raced into an early 1-9 to 0-3 lead before Clare fought back valiantly to reduce the deficit to four points by half-time.
Tipp were able to keep Clare at arm's length throughout the second half with a late goal by Hogan putting the game beyond doubt.
Tipperary's next match in Phase 2 against Cork is now effectively a Munster semi-final.
