Roscommon selector Liam McHale hopes Ultan Harney, Cathal Compton, and Diarmuid Murtagh will be available for the Connacht Senior Football Championship.

Speaking on Thursday afternoon McHale also confirmed that Fergal Lennon has returned from injury, while Ian Kilbride will rejoin the panel next week following a tour of duty in the Lebanon.

Roscommon aren't in action again until June 18 against the winners of London and Leitrim. Fegal Lennon and Brian Stack are also training with Roscommon so McHale is encouraged.

"Ian Kilbride will be back in one week which gives us big help because of the physicality that he brings to the table and we need that badly," McHale says.

"Diarmuid Murtagh is back in six weeks. Cathal Compton is back in four weeks. Ultan Harney is not back doing 100 per cent training yet so the medical team are working very hard on him.

"We are really trying to get Ultan back in shape and we are trying Cathal Compton and Diarmuid Murtagh fit because they are the three best underage players Roscommon have produced in a long, long time and they have been out a lot in the last two or three years.

"We feel if we had them fit going into the Championship it would really strengthen our hand."
