Limerick footballers will have a new manager for the 2017 campaign.

A statement released by CLG Coiste Contae Luimní has confirmed that John Brudair is stepping down from the role. "John Brudair has informed CLG Coiste Contae Luimní today that he will not be going forward for another term as Limerick Senior Football Manager.

"John has given sterling service to Limerick Football over the past three seasons. CLG Coiste Contae Lumní and Coiste Peil Lumní would like to thank John and his management team for their dedication to Limerick Football.

"We would like to wish John, his Management team and their families to very best in the future."

In the 2016 Munster SFC Limerick were beaten by Clare at the Gaelic Grounds before defeating Antrim in a Round 1B qualifier at Corrigan Park.

On July 9 Cork outscored Limerick by 2-12 to 0-10 at Semple Stadium in Round 2B of the qualifiers.
