The public has voted Kerry star David Clifford the GAA.ie Footballer of the Week.

The Fossa club-man received 12,330 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Galway’s Damien Comer (11,265) and Westmeath’s Ronan O’Toole (4,671)

David Clifford – Kerry

Clifford was outstanding again for Kerry in their dramatic All-Ireland SFC semi-final win over Dublin. He scored six points - four of them from play, one mark, and one free - and also won the vital match-winning free that Seán O’Shea converted.

Damien Comer – Galway

The powerful Galway full-forward kept his team in touch in the first half of the All-Ireland semi-final against Derry with two well taken points. And then he put the Ulster champions to the sword in the second-half with two brilliantly converted goals.

Ronan O’Toole – Westmeath

Westmeath’s Ronan O’Toole was the best player on the pitch in the Lake County’s Tailteann Cup Final win over Cavan. He scored five points from play and buzzed around with great industry throughout the match.

Players of the Week are decided based on votes cast by followers of the Official GAA Instagram page.
