It was the semi-final weekend of the 2016 Allianz Football League Division 1 as Dublin won handsomely against Donegal and Kerry gained vengeance over Roscommon for their defeat earlier in the campaign.
The thoroughbred players can smell the championship in their nostrils by now and it was no surprise that a number of them produced powerful performances in Croke Park yesterday.
Ciaran Kilkenny and Darran O'Sullivan headed the lengthy queue of Dublin and Kerry players who impressed, but Donegal’s Patrick McBrearty also made this short-list for his defiant performance in defeat.
The voting process is simple: retweet the image of your chosen player on the GAA's official Twitter account (@officialgaa) or like their image on the GAA's official Facebook and Instagram pages.

Ciaran Kilkenny (Dublin)
Dublin half-forward Ciaran Kilkenny has put serious injury firmly in his rear-view mirror and seems to be going from strength to strength.
He missed the 2014 campaign after tearing a cruciate ligament and impressed on his return to the team in 2015. On the evidence of what we’ve seen from him in the League this year, the 22-year-old has raised his game to a new level in 2016.
He buzzed all over the field to great effect against Donegal on Sunday, got on a huge amount of ball, and used it very wisely. He’s not just a provider, he’s a finisher too, as his three classy points from play underlined.
Darran O’Sullivan (Kerry)
The flying Kerry forward was outstanding on Sunday as he scored 1-4 from play and tortured the Roscommon defence with his speed, movement, and clinical finishing.
Now 29, O’Sullivan seems to be benefiting from having a sustained injury-free run in the team for the first time in a long time. Groin and hamstring issues adversely affected him in 2013, 2014, and 2015, but he seems to have put them behind him now.
That’s great news for Kerry because a fully fit O’Sullivan is one of the most dangerous forwards in the country. He looks like he's building up to a really big summer.
Patrick McBrearty (Donegal)
It’s a testament to McBrearty that he was one of the best players in Croke Park on Sunday even though his Donegal team were resoundingly beaten by Dublin.
The 22-year-old’s display provided some solace at least for Donegal fans as he scored three points from play and kicked five frees confidently. The otherwise dominant Dublin defence looked stretched whenever the Kilcar man got on the ball.
McBrearty has matured into one of the very best forwards in the country in the past couple of years and is now arguably as vital to the Donegal cause as Michael Murphy is.
