Footballer of the Week nominations
Ciaran Kilkenny (Dublin)
It has been a year sprinkled with brilliant Ciaran Kilkenny displays and his relevance to the Dublin cause was underlined again at Croke Park.
Regardless of whatever role Kilkenny has to carry out he delivers in style.
James McCarthy's injury enforced absence meant Kilkenny dropped back to wing back and he had 52 plays during another important performance for the All Ireland champions.
Cillian O'Connor (Mayo)
In such a tight game where every score was hard earned Cillian O'Connor's seven point haul was instrumental for Mayo.
The Ballintubber attacker was sharp early on nailing vital scores as Mayo started brightly.
Finishing the game with 0-7, including three points from play, O'Connor contributed handsomely for Stephen Rochford's team.
Peter Harte (Tyrone)
Throughout the clash with Mayo Tyrone were repeatedly driven forward by Peter Harte and Mattie Donnelly.
Harte scored two outrageous points from play for Mickey Harte's team, who just couldn't force a late leveller.
Despite the narrow defeat, Harte was immense for the Ulster champions.
