Jim McGuinness will return to manage the Donegal senior football team.
McGuinness, who guided Donegal to All-Ireland glory in 2012, has been given a three year term with an option for a fourth year.
The Donegal County Committee met on Monday evening to raifty McGuinness' appointment.
"This is an exciting time for all Donegal GAA supporters and Donegal people at home and abroad," a Donegal statement said.
"CLG Dhún na nGall wish Jim, his backroom team, and the players every success for the future."
