The public has voted Jimmy Hyland the GAA.ie Footballer of the week.
The Ballyteague club-man received 5,820 votes on the GAA’s Official Instagram page which put him ahead of Galway’s Shane Walsh (4,535) and Donegal’s Conor O’Donnell (3,258)
Jimmy Hyland (Kildare)
Jimmy Hyland was the main man for Kildare as they defeated Dublin for the first time in a competitive match since the 2000 Leinster Football Final replay. He scored 1-5, including two frees and two marks, and linked brilliantly all afternoon with Daniel Flynn.
Conor O'Donnell (Donegal)
Conor O’Donnell led the line brilliantly for Donegal as they secured a very hard-fought win over Tyrone. His goal in first-half injury-time gave them a much-needed lifeline and he also chipped in with three important points from play.
Shane Walsh (Galway)
The mercurial Shane Walsh was at his brilliant best as Galway swept past Cork in Saturday’s high-scoring Division 2 clash. He finished with an impressive personal tally of 2-7, including a penalty and two frees.
