McLoughlin polled 6,600 public votes on the GAA's instagram page with Cavan’s Dara McVeety in second and Roscommon’s Diarmuid Murtagh in third.

It was drifting towards the end of a hard-fought match against Donegal when **Kevin McLoughlin **landed a glorious equaliser to preserve Mayo’s Allianz Football League Division One status.
The Knockmore clubman had contributed a typically industrious display for the Green and Red, who once again displayed their never-say-die spirit.
Cavan captain also Dara McVeety led by example on Sunday as the Breffni boys earned promotion back to Division One thanks to a come from behind victory over Tipperary.
McVeety landed two fine points and stitched the play impressively for Mattie McGleenan’s developing outfit.
Diarmuid Murtagh’s role in Roscommon’s successful promotion bid has been significant and he was highly influential again on Sunday during his team's victory over Cork at Dr Hyde Park.
