A selfless, hard-working and classy performance was delivered by Lee Chin at Innovate Wexford Park on Saturday evening as Kilkenny were knocked out of the Leinster Championship.
Chin was one of the star players and caught two massive balls during the second-half when Kilkenny looked to be gathering momentum.
His vision throughout was impressive as was Chin’s decision making. He pitched in with a couple of long range frees that lifted the home crowd as Wexford defeated Kilkenny in the Championship for the first time since 2004.
Carlow’s James Doyle produced an outstanding performance in the Christy Ring Cup Final at Croke Park on Saturday.
Doyle was in sensational scoring form – his first instinct was to always turn towards the goal and his determination paid off. By half-time Doyle had bagged a hat-trick of goals.
The Antrim defence couldn't contain Doyle, who finished with 4-1 before duly being substituted off accompanied by a standing ovation from supporters in the closing stages.
With Armagh battling, Derry initially struggled for scores, but Gerard Bradley showed his quality registering three first half points from play.
The Slaughtneil clubman was prominent and with just seven between the sides shortly after half-time, Bradley drilled a goal into the top corner for Derry’s second major.
Bradley finished with 1-3 and as Derry began to pull away, victory became inevitable and the half-forward played a more deeper role for the remainder of the match as the they clinched promotion back to the Christy Ring Cup.
