Allianz Hurling League Division 2B Relegation Play-Off
WARWICKSHIRE 2-10 DONEGAL 0-14
Two second-half goals proved crucial for Warwickshire as they came from behind to beat Donegal in today’s Allianz Hurling League Division 2B relegation play-off.
Donegal had performed really well in the first half against the wind to lead 0-8 to 0-4 at half-time, but they found Warwickshire to be an entirely different proposition in the second-half.
Warwickshire’s first goal came just two minutes into the second-half and was a very timely boost.
A mishit free feel short to Emmet McCabe who whipped it first-time to the back of the net.
Midway through the second-half Warwickshire struck for a second goal when Kelvin Magee fired home from close range and some good point-taking from Willie Allen kept their noses in front thereafter.
Poor shooting from Donegal in the closing minutes cost them as Warwickshire held on for a two-point win.
