The 2022 Electric Ireland Higher Education GAA Championship draws took place earlier today and threw up a host of mouth-watering ties.

This year’s competitions are all the more eagerly awaited after the Covid-19 pandemic prevented the HE Championships from taking place in 2021.

Defending Sigerson Cup champions, DCU, were drawn out of the hat against Maynooth University.

Beaten 2020 finalists, IT Carlow, will play Letterkenny IT in a match that will hopefully produce the same level of skill and drama that their 2020 semi-final against the same opposition did.

Reigning Fitzgibbon Cup champions, UCC, have been drawn in what should be a seriously competitive group along with NUIG, UCD, and Mary Immaculate College.

The draws and competition structure for all of the 2022 Higher Education GAA Championship draws can be viewed and downloaded below.

IT Carlow will host both the Electric Ireland Sigerson and Fitzgibbon Cup Finals in February next year.
