As part of their 'She's Ace' Women in Handball programme, GAA Handball have come up with a novel 'She's Ace' Online Festival Week all this week, Monday 18th to Sunday 24th January.
The concept is devised to mark their annual 'She's Ace' Women in Handball Tournament, which unfortunately cannot be held this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A series of online events, feature articles, competitions and viral challenges has been lined up across all of GAA Handball's Social Media Platforms.
Darragh Daly, GAA Handball National Development Officer noted,"Our 'She's Ace' Weekend is typically the most fun event of the year, a real social weekend where the absolute beginners can mingle with the elite of the game in team events and novel grades."
"So our Online Festival Week allows us to provide some fun and light hearted entertainment and interaction for our members, and so far the interest has been great."
Don't fret however if you are not a current Handball player, there is still plenty to offer for aspiring new players, with the hope that this concept can inspire new players into the sport, even on a purely recreational basis.
A Mother & Daughter Doubles competition is a major feature of the postponed tournament, therefore it was only right to kick start the week with a Mum & Me at Home Handball Challenge!
