Michael Daragh Macauley announced in a tweet yesterday morning that he was retiring from intercounty football with Dublin. The tweet said, ‘Sin é uaimse. Míle buíochas ó Chroí.’ (That is all from me. My sincere thanks.).

In an intercounty career spanning over ten years the Ballyboden St. Enda’s man won 8 All-Ireland medals, 10 Leinster Senior Championship medals as well as 5 National League titles with Dublin. He also won an All-Ireland medal with his club in 2016. He has 2 All-Stars to his name as well as being named Footballer of the Year in 2013.

Dublin GAA thanked Michael Darragh for his ‘incredible service to the Dublin jersey’ and wished him all the very best for the future. This news comes hot on the heals of Paddy Andrews announcing his retirement from the Dublin panel last week.
