200 Irish-Muslims gathered at Croke Park to mark Eid Al Adha on July 31.

The Muslim celebration of Eid Al Adha took place at Croke Park on Friday.

Goverment advice ensured places of worship were closed for a number of months, but 200 gathered at GAA headquarters.

Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish faiths attended the event with Croke Park made available to enable social distancing on an important day for Muslims.

Irish Muslim Peace and Integration Council (IMPIC) Chairperson, Shaykh Dr Umar Al-Qadri, said: "This is a country that is proud of its diversity and embraces those who become part of the society.

"Which place is most iconic and symbolic? Of course it is Croke Park."
