GAELIC FOOTBALL

Dioralyte O'Byrne Cup Semi-Final

Dublin 5-17 Wexford 1-11

An experimental Dublin selection proved too strong for Wexford at Parnell Park, 5-17 to 1-11.

Three first half goals were bagged by Dublin, who led 3-6 to 1-6 at half-time.

Seán Lowry (2) and Luke Breathnach netted goals before the break for Dublin, who edged out Offaly last week.

After the restart Niall Scully palmed home a fourth Dublin major before Lowry completed his hat-trick.

Cathal Walsh was Wexford's goalscorer in the opening period.

Dioralyte O'Byrne Shield Semi-Finals

Wicklow 1-20 Laois 0-12

Louth 2-12 Westmeath 0-12

Wicklow were convincing 1-20 to 0-12 winners over Laois in Rathnew.

Jack Kirwan's first half goal helped Wicklow into a 1-11 to 0-7 half-time lead.

After the restart Joe Prendergast, Dean Healy, and Patrick O'Kane were amongst the scorers as Wicklow eased to victory.

Ciarán Keenan and Ryan Burns pounced to score goals as Louth overcame Westmeath 2-12 to 0-12 in Kinnegad.

Bank of Ireland Dr McKenna Cup Semi-Final

Derry 0-17 Armagh 2-7

Shane McGuigan's 0-10 haul was vital as Derry eventually fended off Armagh's challenge at BOX-IT Athletic Grounds.

Mickey Harte's team advanced to the Dr McKenna Cup following a hard earned 0-17 to 2-7 success.

An Oisín O'Neill point in the 53rd minute edged Armagh 2-7 to 0-12 in front, but Derry finished strongly.

It was level, 0-7 to 1-4, at the break following Seán Conlon's goal for Armagh.

In the second period it remained a keenly contested encounter watched by 4,437 spectators, but Derry prevailed.

Connacht FBD Semi-Final

Roscommon 0-21 London 1-9

Roscommon adequately dealt with London's spirited challenge at the University of Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome.

Davy Burke's charges led 0-13 to 1-6 at the interval with London providing a stern challenge.

In the closing stages, though, Roscommon pulled clear courtesy of important scores from Enda Smith, Conor Cox, Andy Glennon, and Diarmuid Murtagh.

Ciaran McKeon had scored a first half goal to keep London in contention, but Roscommon advanced.

The Connacht FBD Final between Roscommon and Galway will take place next Friday evening.

HURLING

Conor McGurk Cup Final

Donegal 2-25 Down 0-22

Gerry Gilmore and Liam McKinney were Donegal's goalscorers in an impressive Conor McGurk Cup Final victory over Down at The Dub.

Donegal delivered an excellent first half display to depart 2-15 to 0-10 ahead at the turnaround.

Down battled throughout, but sufficient Donegal damage had been inflicted early on.
